Last week, we traveled all the way to Alabang to try out this newest out door dining offer from Crimson Hotel. The buffet spread consists of a salad station where you can make your own salad from scratch or choose among the various pre-mixed salads. There's also a wide selection of breads.

Grilled items are divided into two groups. First are the seafood items consisting of prawns, mussels and lobsters. The second are the meat items which include marinated chicken, pork, beef and sausages.

According to Chef Martin Bower, Executive Chef at Crimson Hotel Filinvest City Manila, items on the buffet differ from day to day. This is to ensure that returning guests will have a unique experience every visit. He also shared that meat items were marinated overnight while the seafood items sourced were the freshest and of the highest quality. A sweet surprise was the dessert station which is something you don't normally expect in a barbecue buffet like this one.

Since this is a buffet, guests are free to get as many items from the buffet as they want. Just hand your plate of seafood and meat items to the grilling station and they will cook your barbecue to your preference.

Gizmo is the guy to look for at the Grilling Station. He knows how to perfectly season and grill every item. He will even fire up the grill to entertain you as you wait for your grilled barbecue.

Here is my plate of grilled lobsters, prawns, mussels, pork and chicken, with baked potato on the side. The lobsters were perfectly grilled, the meat was moist and tender. The prawns were perfectly seasoned with lemon butter. The mussels were plump and tender, not over cooked. The pork and the chicken were well marinated with all the flavor oozing out of the meat.

Big groups can also have a platter of assorted items prepared for them. Here is a sample of a barbecue platter made by Gizmo. As mentioned earlier, the Weekend BBQ Delight comes with unlimited serving of local beers.

Guests can also unwind through the soulful love songs, OPMs, jazz performances by a live band. Guests are encouraged to request their favorite songs.

Guests can choose from different seating areas. There's a long table perfect for socializing while smaller groups may opt to occupy the individual tables for a more intimate dining. Bigger groups can chill at the lounges for an evening of relaxation and great food.

For the more serious drinkers, there's the poolside bar where you can enjoy signature cocktails, wines and spirits. Non-alcoholic beverages include soda, chilled juices and iced tea. You can then end your evening with coffee to match the desserts.
