The Deluxe Harbour View Room is one of the three Deluxe Room categories of Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong. The Deluxe Harbour View Room is the biggest (45 square meters) among the three categories. The Deluxe Harbour View Room features a floor-to-ceiling window with sweeping views of Victoria Harbour.
We were originally booked in a Deluxe Room but I got a tip from a friend that the Deluxe Harbour View Room is the most desirable room at Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong. I immediately contacted the hotel and asked them to change my reservation. Fortunately, there was still an available Deluxe Harbour View Room.
I did not regret paying the room rate difference as the view of the Victoria Harbour from our floor-to-ceiling bay window was so worth it. The view is equally stunning at night when all the buildings are lit up with neon lights.
Shangri-La gives special attention to the guests' arrival experience. Here at Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong, a pot of jasmine tea is served in every room as part of the hotel's standard welcome amenity. The teapot basket kept the tea warm for us to enjoy while admiring the view from our window.
The Deluxe Harbor View Room is available in a king bed or twin beds configuration. Consistent with my experience staying in other Shangri-La properties, the bed in our room was very comfortable. I particularly loved the plush pillows and soft linens.
For maximum comfort and convenience, control buttons for the lights and the curtains are located next to the bed. There's also a seating area next to the window, as well as a writing desk that business travelers can fully maximize. Wifi connection is fast and no username and password are required to log in to the network.
The minibar s fully stocked with canned soda, beer, bottled juices, and premium liquor. There's also a coffee and tea making facility. Complimentary bottled water, instant coffee, and Zesta tea bags are also provided and replenished daily.
The bathroom is equally spacious and is generously lined with white marble. It features a separate bathtub and a walk-in shower. The shower cubicle is fitted with a hand-held showerhead and a rainfall showerhead. The flooring is made of anti-slip rough granite for your safety.
There is a single vanity with a wall-to-wall mirror and spacious granite countertop for your personal toiletries. Towels are generously provided. Two pieces of bathrobes are hanged inside the closet. The water pressure was consistently strong during our stay. It was winter when we visit Hong Kong, and the water heater worked perfectly.
Signature Shangri-La Crispy Mint toiletries are provided including bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and soap. Two sets of toothbrush and toothpaste are placed in the wash area.
