Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is featuring the rich Italian culinary heritage through the Festa Italiana, an Italian-themed buffet promotion at Cucina, the hotel's all-day buffet and a la carte dining restaurant.
Last weekend, we visited Cucina to try out the featured Italian dishes from buffet. According to Janice Chua, Assistant Director of Restaurants, Bars, and Events of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, they brought in an Italian Chef from their sister hotel, Marco Polo Hong Kong, to make sure that guests only experience the authentic taste of Italian cuisine.
Chef Andrea Delzanno is the Chef de Cuisine of Marco Polo Hong Kong's Italian restaurant which also called Cucina. Chef Andrea is from the region of Piedmont and specializes in Italian dishes cooked with meat, mushrooms, cheeses, creams and wines. His years or experience working as a chef in Italian restaurants around the world also gained him expertise in other regional Italian cuisines.
I particularly loved the creamy mushroom risotto, so simple yet very delicious. I think the risotto represents the creamy, buttery and hearty cuisine of Piedmont. Chef Andrea also recommended that I try his favorite pasta dish, the Pasta alle Vongole.
For dessert don't miss out on the Tiramisu and the Panna Cotta which I paired with freshly brewed coffee. Piedmontese cuisine if one my my favorite Italian regional cuisines, and I particularly loved Chef Andrea's cooking. I will make sure that I visit his Italian restaurant on my next trip to Hong Kong.
Festa Italiana will run until June 18 only so if you are looking for a venue to celebrate Father's Day this weekend, the Festa Italiana buffet is one of my most recommended. I recommend that you book your tables in advance as reservations are already running high.
