The Fantastic Suite is one of the five suite categories of W Suzhou. With a total floor area of 113 square meters, the Fantastic Suite offers guests with one of the most spacious luxury accommodations in the city highlighted a panoramic view of Jinji Lake and of the Suzhou Industrial Park.
Living Area | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
A big portion of the suite is occupied by the living area. Entering the living area, the first thing I noticed was the abundance of sofas and couches. I think the living area can comfortably seat around eight persons, which makes it a perfect venue for private parties with a small group of friends. I truly am in a W, I told myself.
Welcome Amenities | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
Adding more color to the already colorful living room were the welcome amenities. It was already winter in China when I stayed at W Suzhou and I was impressed that fresh fruits including apples, oranges and dragon fruit are provided. I also find the hand-written welcome note from the hotel's General Manager very thoughtful.
Floor-to-Ceiling Glass Window | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
The Fantastic Suite occupies a curved corner of the building with the living area facing the Suzhou Center Shopping Mall. A floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall glass window stretches the whole length of the living room, bringing in plenty of natural light into the suite.
Colorful Sofas | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
I really love the mixture of colors and textures of the sofas. The green feature wall sets the overall vibe in the living area, vibrant and fun. Just like in many W Hotels around the world, you will better enjoy the design of the rooms at night when all the colors come to life.
Smart TV and Dining Table | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
The living area is equipped with an ultra wide Smart LED TV with sound bar. You can conveniently connect your smartphone to the Smart TV to watch videos. You can also set the mood inside the living area by playing your favorite songs. A dining table is located at the corner which can also serve as a work table for business travelers.
When staying at W Suzhou, you don't need to bring a universal socket adapter anymore since all the rooms and suites already have universal sockets installed. USB sockets also make charging your mobile phone more convenient. Members of the Marriott Rewards program enjoy complimentary wireless internet connection inside the guestrooms, suites and public areas. Speed was fast enough to play online videos on your smartphone.
Nespresso Machine | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
China is a tea drinking country, that is why I highly appreciate the Nespresso machine provided by W Suzhou inside the Fantastic Suite. Also provided are Milan Gold coffee grounds which you can brew using a French press. Guests staying at W Suzhou also enjoy premium teas by TG Art of Tea, with flavors such as Oolong, Pu-Er, Longjing and English Breakfast.

In tune with the bar culture of W Hotels, the Fantastic Suite also includes the W MixBar as part of its en-suite amenities. With cocktail glasses and mixers, guests can easily prepare their favorite cocktails right at the comfort of the suite.

In addition to liquor, the W MixBar is also fully-stoked with canned soda, bottled juices, tonic water and beer. Snacks as well as other party amenities are also available for purchase from the W MixBar. If drinks and snacks from the W MixBar are not enough, you can always call room service.

Consistent with the W Hotels brand, the Fantastic Suite at W Suzhou combines cutting-edge design with local influences. The city of Suzhou is known for its classical gardens, and one of the main architectural elements in these gardens are the moon gates (月亮门).

The moon gates also served as an inspiration for the interior design of the Fantastic Suite. The bed for example is crowned by a moon gate which pulsates in different hues of green. Placed on top of the bed is a pillow in the shape of a pipa (琵琶) which is a Chinese musical instrument used in classical Suzhou opera.

The bedroom is also equipped with an ultra-wide Smart TV with plenty of local and international cable and satellite channels including CNN, BBC, Chanel NewsAsia, National Geographic and HBO. Switches to the light and curtains as well as power outlets with universal socket are conveniently located beside the bed.

Similar to my experience at W Taipei and W Kuala Lumpur, I also had an excellent sleep experience here at W Suzhou, thanks to the W Signature Bed and the plush pillows and divet comforters. It was winter time when I visit Suzhou and the double layer glass window worked perfectly in regulating the temperature inside the room. I was able to fully recuperate here coming from an early morning flight.
Panoramic View of Jinji Lake | Fantastic Suite, W Suzhou |
Just like in the living area, the bedroom also has a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glass window. Here is the panoramic view of the Jinji Lake as seen from my suite (2107) located on the 21st floor of the hotel. This side of the room faces the east, and on a good summer day, you can enjoy a magnificent sunrise from your bed.

From the bedroom, there are two doors that lead to the en-suite bathroom. One is located next to the sofa by the window which leads directly to the bathtub. Another one is located next to the bedroom door. As you enter from this side, you will pass by a vanity table before you reach the water closet and the walk-in shower.

Once you step in to the bathroom, you will realize how spacious the Fantastic Suite really is. It has dual sinks with plenty of countertop space. The floor and the walls are covered with marble while the ceiling is painted white. The natural light coming in from the window also make the bathroom feel more spacious.

Opposite the sink is a walk-in closet with plenty of storage space for your luggage. There is an electronic safe big enough to store a laptop. Iron and ironing board are also provided in the closet. For your comfort, two sets of bath robes and room slippers are also available here. More storage space is available at the cabinets near the suites entrance door.

The deep soaking bathtub is no doubt the highlight of the bathroom. It stands next to the glass window so you can relax in a warm bath while enjoying the breathtaking view of the Jinji Lake. A flatscreen TV is also installed at the foot of the bathtub with a waterproof remote control placed within arm's reach.

The en-suite bathroom has a separate walk-in shower installed with handheld and rainfall showerheads. Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay and hot water was instantaneous. There is also a water closet inside the bathroom, while a separate powder room is located at the living area. Similar to the Wonderful Room at W Taipei, toilet seats here are also fitted with a remote control bidet seat.

Both the bathtub and the walk-in shower are supplied with a set of Lemon + Sage bath and body amenities by Bliss. The complete set includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, massage soap and foaming face wash. If you need more, just call housekeeping and they will send a complete set to your suite in no time.

Here are more photos of the Fantastic Suite taken at night time. Notice that the colors are more vibrant. While some guests prefer the look of the room during day time, I personally prefer the night time look of the room, especially right after sunset and before the sky turns totally dark.
