The Junior Suite is the lead-in suite category of Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa. The 59 square meter Junior Suite has a semi-open floor plan, offering an accommodation that is filled with natural light.
The interior of the Junior Suite uses a lot of wood and black sandstone typically used in Balinese temples. Many of the furnishings are made of bamboo and rattan while accent pieces take their inspiration from Balinese culture.
Guests entering the Junior Suite will be welcomed by a seating area that can comfortably seat two persons. There is also a round basket chair made of rattan rope which makes for a comfortable seat while drinking coffee or reading The Navigator, the in-house magazine of Renaissance Hotels.
Next to the seating area is the Renaissance Bed. Its pocketed coil mattress and the mattress topper create a perfect blend of firmness for back support and softness for body contouring. The pillows were very fluffy that sleeping on two layers of pillows was still very comfortable to the neck.
The glass sliding door next to the bed leads to the Junior Suite's balcony which offers a view of the resort's garden. I stayed at Junior Suite 5403 which is located on the ground floor of the resort's tower 5. I personally prefer to stay inside the room where the temperature is much more comfortable. If you love lounging in balconies, I recommend that you request a Junior Suite located on the second floor or higher.
Back inside the room, the A/C did a good job in regulating the room temperature within the comfortable zone of 18-22 degrees Celsius. I particularly loved the bed's feature wall which is inspired by the black-and-white patterns found in Balinese hand-woven fabrics. I spent most of my time in bed channel surfing and recharging from a hectic week of work at the office
A unique feature of the Junior Suite was this marble-topped island table which comes with two wooden bar stools. The table can serve as a dining table or as a work table, but since you are in this holiday island destination, you will most likely use this table for in-room dining.
The minibar is conveniently located in a sliding cabinet under the island table and is fully stocked with juices, soda, sparkling water, local and international beer brands and liquors. An espresso machine is placed on the island table while Cafes Richard coffee capsules are stored inside one of the sliding drawers under the table.
The wall closet is located right behind the island table. It has enough storage space to hang clothes for a week-long stay. Guests can place their luggage in open shelf next to the wall closet. Iron and ironing board are also stored inside the wall closet. I particularly loved the bathrobes which were made with silky-smooth microfibers and lined with terry velour.
Standing from this angle you can see how spacious the Junior Suite is. You will definitely notice how much space was dedicated to the bathroom area. With only a glass wall separating the bathroom's dry area to the we area, the Junior Suite makes for a romantic accommodation for couples. For obvious reasons, the Junior Suite is too intimate for families and friends.
The bathroom's dry area features a double sink vanity with a double wide mirror. Consistent with the design of the Junior Suite, the counter top is made of black granite while the wall of the vanity is lined with back sandstone.
The wet area, on the other hand, includes the shower area and the bathtub area. The shower area is fitted with a hand-held and a rainfall shower head. Hot and cold water is available any time of the day and the water pressure was consistently strong. The shower area is very spacious and can comfortably fit two persons taking shower together.
The bathtub area features an over-sized, free-standing, deep-soaking bathtub against a backdrop of a mosaic inspired by traditional Balinese hand-woven fabrics. Guests can enjoy a view of the resort's garden and surrounding trees while taking a bath. For privacy, blinds can be drawn down to totally block the view from outside.
Hand towels and bath towels are provided hanging on a wooden ladder while face towels and vanity kits are placed on top of the vanity counter-top. The Junior Suite has a separate water closet located opposite the bathroom. It is fitted with toilet with a bidet seat cover and bidet spray.
Gin & Rosewater No. 12 by Tokyo Milk is the standard brand of body and bath amenities in Renaissance Hotels across Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Here at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, guests are provided with a set comprised of bar soap, shampoo, condiitoner, lotion and shower gel. The scent is dominantly floral and citrusy.
