Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is a five-star resort located on the hilly side of Bali's Bukit Peninsula, overlooking the forests of Ungasan, the coasts of Jimbaran and Kuta, and the vast Indian Ocean. The resort is located some 14km south of Ngura Rai International Aiport and easily accessible by airport taxi.
Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa opened on 6 June 2018, marking the debut of the Renaissance Hotels brand in Indonesia, and there is no better place to launch this premium hotel brand than the holiday destination of Bali. Renaissance Hotels is part of the Marriott International group.
I took an early morning flight from Manila to Bali and arrived at the resort around 10:00am. Fortunately, my room was already prepared and I was allowed to check-in ahead of the standard 3:00pm check-in time. Early check-in is subject to availability. In case early check-in is not possible, you can have your luggage stored with concierge while you hang-out at the adjacent RBar.
Elite Members Benefit: Late Check-out
Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members who are flying out of Bali in a late afternoon flight can take advantage of their Late Check-out benefit. Make sure to request for your late check-out upon checking-in or on the morning of your check-out date. Please take note that Late Check-out at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is not guaranteed and is subject to room availability.

The view from Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa combines the tranquility of Ubud and the beach vibe of Jimbaran and Kuta. The resort also enjoys a close proximity to the airport. In fact, you can watch the airplanes landing and taking off from the lobby bar. On a clear sunny day, you can also see Mt. Agung towering above the dense forest surrounding the resort
Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa is comprised of six interconnected wings, with the common areas, guest facilities and dining outlets located in Wings 1, 2 and 3. The resort's guestrooms and suites are spread across Wings 1 to 6.

A copy of the resort map will be provided upon check-in. A member of the concierge team accompanied me to my room and explained how to navigate resort. I also noticed that corridors were clearly labeled with directions showing the way from one wing to another. Elevators are also marked with wing numbers and room numbers.
A network of road connects wings 4, 5 and 6 to the main wing. Guests may take the resort's golf buggies to conveniently take them to their designated wing. Guests traveling with elderly parents may request for a room located near the main lobby.
Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa has a total of 207 spacious guestrooms and suites, each having its own private balcony with a view of the ocean or the gardens surrounding the resort. The interior design of the rooms and suites is inspired by the local architecture and culture of Bali.

Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa has a total of three outdoor swimming pools which are open daily from 6:00am to 9:00pm. The Main Swimming Pool and the Kids Swimming Pool are located next to restaurants and are accessible via Level 5 of Wings 1 and 4. Guests staying in Wings 3 and 5 can use the connecting corridors and elevators to reach these two swimming pools.

The Lower Swimming Pool located at the far end of Wing 6. It is conveniently accessible from Wings 5 and 6. Guests staying in Wings 1-4 may take the golf buggy at the Lobby which will take them to the Saltwater Swimming Pool.
Additionally, Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa also manages the Roosterfish Beach Club, an offsite beach club located in Pandawa Beach in Nusa Dua area. Guests staying at the resort enjoy complimentary access to Roosterfish Beach Club. It features a beachside swimming pool, a restaurant and bar. The resort offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the resort, with scheduled trips every hour. Just approach the concierge to schedule your transfers.
The resort also has a 24-hour Fitness Center located on the 3rd Floor of Wing 3. It features state of the art cardiovascular equipment and free weights. Guests seeking for the ultimate relaxation should definitely visit The Spa. It offers body treatments and massages using traditional and local massage techniques.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay here at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa. I loved the quiet surroundings and the mild fresh sea breeze that freely circulates throughout the resort. I spent most of the time inside my room, enjoying every minute in bed to relax and recharge. Food was also excellent, not to mention the friendly service in the restaurants. True to the proposition of the Renaissance brand, my recent stay at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa made me curious to explore other destinations where Renaissance Hotels are located.
