The Premium Room is one of the newly renovated guestrooms of Conrad Bangkok. Measuring 41 square meters, the Premium Room features a clean and modern interior design with a refreshing theme of blue and grey. The amber lighting adds a sense of warmth and elegance to the room.
The Premium Room is available in King Bed and Twin Bed configurations and is furnished with contemporary and Thai-inspired sofas and accent pieces. I stayed at Room 2315 which is a Premium King Room located on the 23rd floor. My room faces the east overlooking the Nana-Sukhumvit area of Bangkok.
It was my first time to stay at Conrad Bangkok and I was happy to finally have the Conrad Elephant as part of my growing collection of Conrad stuffed animal toys. Based on photos I saw online, the Conrad Elephant is available in different colors. I got the red one during my stay and I hope to get a different color on my next stay.
It was very humid in Bangkok when I visited last May. Thankfully, my room's A/C worked perfectly to keep the in-door temperature at a comfortable level of 18-20 degrees Celsius. Even at noontime when the outdoor temperature was at its peak, it remained cool inside the room.
In addition to its new design, the Premium Room also comes with some of the modern conveniences such as the bed-side controls for the curtains and lights. Universal sockets and USB ports are also available, so no need to bring an adapter when staying at Conrad Bangkok.
The seating area is where I spent most of my lazy afternoons. Thanks to the fast wireless internet connection, I was able to watch the latest news from home via Youtube. I was also able to connect my smartphone to the 47-inch HDTV to watch some movies on Netflix.
I also love the ornamental round table which can function as a dinner table or a work desk. It makes me feel that I was really on vacation. Paired with an ergonomic chair, I also don't mind working with my laptop on this desk as well.
The Premium Room has a minibar fully stocked with bottled and canned drinks, including soda, juices, beer and liquor. An assortment of snacks are also available inside the minibar cabinet. If you are looking for specific snacks are drinks other than those inside the minibar, you might also want to check the nearby 7-Eleven store or the TOPS supermarket. Both are accessible from the hotel lobby.
Guests staying in a Premium Room receive both instant coffee and coffee grounds. A French press is stored inside the minibar cabinet. Complimentary teabags by Dilmah are also provided to guests. I particularly like the Jasmine Green Tea. An electronic kettle is available inside the room to heat bottled water for coffee and tea.
One of the best things about staying in a Conrad is the signature Serenity Bed. Similar to my stay at Conrad Guangzhou, I also had an excellent sleep quality here at Conrad Bangkok. I feel well rested everyday I wake up in the morning. This is very important for me considering that I don't get enough sleep during the work week.
As a standard, the Premium Room has a closet cabinet where guests can hang their clothes. An iron and ironing board are also provided. Bathrobes and room slippers are also stored inside the cabinet. For your personal items, you can safely store them in the electronic safe.
For a 41-square meter room, I was surprised that it has a very spacious bathroom. There is only one basin which leaves a lot of space of the counter top for your personal toiletries. The double-wide mirror also makes the bathroom feel brighter and more spacious.
The toilet is equipped with a TOTO Japanese-style washlet (bidet seat cover). The separate shower cubicle was also decently spacious. It is fitted with handheld and rainfall shower heads. Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay and hot water was available instantaneously.
My favorite feature of the bathroom is of course the freestanding bathtub. If you are staying alone in the room or staying as a couple, then the glass wall should not be a privacy issue. Nonetheless, you can draw down the blackout blinds. Here at Conrad Bangkok, you also get a rubber elephant toy as part of your complimentary bathroom amenities.
Just like in any Conrad hotel or resort, guests here at Conrad Bangkok enjoy the Mandarin Tea by Shanghai Tang line of bathroom amenities. The complete set includes shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body soap, hand soap and body lotion. It has the vibrant scent of sun drenched orange peels and the creamy scent of musk. I particularly love the lotion.
Overall, I did enjoy my stay in this Premium Room. I like its modern look which still integrates elements of Thai design. I find it perfect for staycations. You can just relax in the room all day and order in-room dining. Business travelers will also like the room for its ergonomic chair and fast internet connection. Leisure travelers can also choose this room as their base to explore the city, with the Sukhumvit BTS Line is just a few blocks away. Grabcar is easily available within the area.
