The Breakfast Buffet at Conrad Koh Samui is served daily from 7:00am to 10:30am at the Zest Restaurant. Resort guests who booked a bed and breakfast package enjoy daily breakfast buffet for up to two persons, while Hilton Honors Gold- and Diamond-level members staying at the resort enjoy complimentary breakfast buffet for up to two adults as part of their member benefits.
Zest Restaurant was under renovation during my stay at Conrad Koh Samui. A temporary breakfast venue was set up in the function hall located just below Zest Restaurant. Similar to Zest Restaurant, the alfresco dining area is located on a terrace overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.
Similar to my experience at Conrad Bali, the breakfast buffet here at Conrad Koh Samui consists of an international buffet spread featuring Thai dishes, French pastries, Continental breakfast items, as well as fresh fruits and salads. My favorites were, of course, the Thai Green Curry and the Pork Pad Krapow.
There are also live cooking stations where you can order noodle soup dishes. I was able to try the glass noodles with clear pork broth. The taste was very comforting. I also tried the grilled chicken, sausage, and vegetables.
In addition to the buffet spread, guests can also order unlimited items from the breakfast a la carte menu. And of course, no breakfast in Thailand is complete with Kai Jiew (Thai Omelette). Similar to Conrad Bangkok, the chefs here at Conrad Koh Samui make Kai Jiew the traditional way. Just the way I like it.
Another a la carte item I tried was the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I love how it was generously topped with hollandaise sauce. The smoked salmon used was not overly salty and the muffin was chewy and easy to the bite.
As always, I ended by breakfast with fresh fruits. Both the melons and the dragon fruits were sweet and juicy. They also serve freshly squeezed Thai orange juice, my favorite, as well as pureed fruit juices.
To get to Zest Restaurant, just call the reception and ask for a buggy. Depending on the resort's occupancy, the breakfast buffet venue can get busy around 8:00am to 9:00am. Buggy service may also take 10 to 15 minutes of waiting time.
