The Deluxe Suite at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka measures 57 square meters and features a separate bedroom and living area. I was super tired when I arrived at 5:00pm in Osaka coming from Kyoto. Thankfully my check-in at the hotel's Swiss Executive Club Lounge was quick and efficient. It didn't take long for me to get my key cards, an off I go to finally settle in my suite.
Traveling from Kyoto to Osaka on a hot summer day was really exhausting. When I entered the suite, the first thing I did was to drop all my bags in the walk-in closet and sat on the sofa. The vibrant colors of the interior, coupled with the comfortable sofa, made it easy for me to revitalize.
The living area was well air-conditioned which helped me cool down. The generous welcome amenities featured local fruits and snacks, offering not only a sense of arrival, but also a sense of connection with the local culture.
During my stay, I spent most of the midday inside the suite to escape the summer heat. If I were not channel surfing, I would be researching online for restaurants to try in Osaka later in the afternoon. The internet speed inside the suite was fairly fast enough to watch Youtube videos.
During my stay, I also got the chance to update my blog with a few articles. The work station was very spacious and the chair was comfortable. Power outlets with universal sockets were generously provided around the suite. Swissôtel Nankai Osaka guests are also provided with a Handy smartphone during their stay. Guest can use the Handy within the hotel or bring it with them while explorng the city.
Guests can enjoy the Handy access the internet for free, or to make complimentary local calls and international calls to up to eight countries and territories, including the Philippines, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. This makes Swissôtel Nankai Osaka a perfect choice for business and leisure travelers.
As a hotel standard, all rooms and suites at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka are equipped with a Nespresso machine as well as an electronic kettle. The Deluxe Suite is particular was generously supplied with eight Nespresso capsules which are replenished daily.
Another great thing I like about Swissôtel Nankai Osaka is the local brand of complimentary tea they provide their guests. During my stay, I had the pleasure of drinking sencha green tea in my room. Using the local ITO EN brand is one of the small details that create an authentic local experience to the guests.
I almost drank tea exclusively during my stay at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka because Nespresso is something I can find in any country I go to. Sencha tea, on the other hand, is something I can only enjoy when I travel to Japan.
Swissôtel Nankai Osaka being located in the Namba area of Osaka means that you will be walking a lot when exploring the nearby attractions, shopping districts and restaurants. Whenever I return to my room, I always seat on the swivel chair inside the bedroom. It was so relaxing I actually fell asleep on it one afternoon.
Most importantly, the bed was super comfortable to sleep on. The mattress had a well balanced firmness that supports the whole length of the body while its fluffiness perfectly adjusted to the contours of the body. The sheets were made of high thread-count cotton fabric which was very soft and gentle to the skin.
My bedroom faces the south-east direction where I enjoyed a panoramic view of the city. The night time was especially magical when the sky started to get dark and the citylights illuminate the urban landscape. On a clear day, this is also the best spot to watch the sunrise.
The en-suite bathroom is conveniently located inside the bedroom. For a suite measuring 57 square meters, I wasn't expecting the bathroom to be this spacious. It has a single vanity, a washlet-fitted toilet and a bathtub and shower combo, leaving enough space for two persons to comfortably move around the bathroom.
Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay and hot water was available almost instantaneously. I also appreciate the generous provision of towels. I particularly loved the thick bath towels. Similar to other Swissôtel properties around the world, guests here at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka are provided with Pürovel body and bath amenities.
The complete Pürovel set includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and soap. Essential oils used to make these bath products were extracted from plants grown in the Alpine valleys of Switzerland. The scent of these products ranges from fragrant lavender and bee balm to refreshing peppermint and lemon balm.
While the bathroom has its own luggage rack, families staying in the Deluxe Room will be pleased to have a more spacious walk-in closet located next to the living area. There is enough space to store bulky luggage and shopping bags. There is an iron and ironing board inside the closet should you need de-wrinkle your clothes.
Overall, I did enjoy my stay here in the Deluxe Suite of Swissôtel Nankai Osaka. I appreciate having extra room space where I can comfortably move around. I do recommend the Deluxe Suite to couples and small families.
