Taipei Marriott Hotel (台北萬豪酒店) is a five-star hotel located in the Zhongshan District of Taipei. With its close proximity to the Neihu Technology Park, Taipei Marriott Hotel is the preferred hotel of many business travelers from the United States, China, Japan, and Europe. Marriott is a premium hotel brand and the flagship brand of the Marriott International group.
Guests entering the lobby will be welcomed by the colorful prints of butterflies on the carpet and the sparkling glass butterflies hanging from the ceiling. The design is inspired by the Mt. Jiannan Butterfly Trail, a park in Taipei home to more than a hundred species of butterflies.
Art meets nature here in the reception lobby of Taipei Marriott Hotel. The feature wall behind the front desk depicts Taiwan's Alishan National Scenic Area through a 1200x900 centimeter acrylic painting by Moss & Lam of Canada. The giant artwork depicts the diversity of flora and fauna found in Alishan. You will also notice that butterflies are also incorporated in the painting.
The official check-in time at Taipei Marriott Hotel is 3:00pm. I arrived at the hotel at around 1:00pm and I was told that my room wasn't ready yet. After completing my check-in, I left my luggage at the concierge and waited at the adjacent Lobby Louge. At 2:00pm, I was approached by the receptionist, handed to me my keycards and told me that my room was ready.

Taipei Marriott Hotel has a Fitness Center that is open 24 hours so whether you prefer to work-out in the morning or in the afternoon, or if you wish to tire yourself to beat jetlag, you can always visit the fitness center on your most convenient time. If you prefer jogging or cycling, there are a lot of open spaces around the hotel. The nearby Meidi Riverside Park is one of the best spots for such activity.
There is also a Rooftop Swimming Pool located next to the fitness center. The water is heated and is perfect during the cold hours of the morning. Other facilities available to guests are the shower area and the dry sauna. The swimming pool is open daily from 6:30am to 10:00pm. Towels are provided at the swimming pool area.
Sky19 is the hotel's in-house spa. Located on the 19th floor, the spa features treatment rooms for solo guests and couples. The best way to end your stay in Taipei is by having an indulgent massage that would soothe your sore muscles. You will feel rejuvenated and re-energized the following morning.
First-time visitors to Taipei may find Taipei Marriott Hotel too far away from the main touristy parts of the city. But for the more experienced Taipei visitor, the green spaces and the less crowded streets are such a refreshing sight. The nearby mountains also make you feel closer to nature. I definitely enjoyed my stay here at Taipei Marriott Hotel and I will definitely stay here again to explore the less known attractions in this northern part of Taipei.
