I stayed at Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery for only one night so I made sure I tried both the local and international breakfast selections. I started with traditional Japanese breakfast which the restaurant conveniently served in bento style.
My Japanese breakfast included Shiozake (salted salmon), Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), and Tsukemono (pickled vegetables). I also had Japanese rice and miso soup on the side.
The buffet also features freshly baked bread and pastries but I skipped those and went for a bowl of salad. I made my own Ceasars Salad and topped it with smoked salmon. The lettuce and the cucumber were very crunchy while the cherry tomatoes were sweet and juicy. The saltiness of the smoked salmon balanced out the sweetness of the vegetables and the sourness of the dressing.
I then ordered Ham & Cheese Omelet from the egg station and combined it with steamed vegetables, roasted mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, sausage and bacon. I ended my breakfast with a bowl of fresh fruits. I had kiwi, oranges, and strawberry. The fruits were very sweet, juicy and refreshing.
The breakfast buffet comes with free-flowing coffee, espresso-based beverages, tea, and freshly pressed fruit juices. I started with cappuccino and ended my breakfast with two glasses of fresh orange juice.
