Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery is part of the MGallery collection of boutique hotels managed by the AccorHotels group. Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery opened in May 2019 making it one of the newest international chain hotels in Kyoto. The hotel's opening also marked the debut of the MGallery brand in Japan.
Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery features a contemporary classic designed inspired by the local neighborhood of the Gion District. The interior design combines elements from Kyoto's traditional matchiya wooden houses and teahouses. One of the unique features, and perhaps one of the selling points, of the hotel is the indoor bamboo garden which spans the height of two floors.
Kyoto's local culture and rich history are also showcased in the hotel's interiors. The local Nishijin fabric, for example, is used as accent pieces in the hotel's guestrooms and public areas.

Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery doesn't have a swimming pool but it does have a small gym with a few work-out machines and free weights. For morning jogging, the hotel staff recommends the promenade along the Kamo River which is just two blocks away from the hotel.
During my stay, my request for a late check-out was granted by the hotel. This gave extra time in the morning to explore Nishiki Market and try out some of the local delicacies of Kyoto. I also got to swing by a ramen place for lunch.

The nearest international airport to Kyoto Yura Hotel - MGallery is Kansai International Airport (KIX) located at some 97km in the city of Osaka. The hotel stands right next to the Sanjo Keihan Station and is centrally located within a short walking distance to Kyoto's main attractions.
Airport Transfer
- The most convenient and affordable way to get from the airport to the hotel is by taking the Limited Express Haruka train from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto Station. Travel time is around 70 minutes and the ticket is priced at JPY2,900.
- From Kyoto Station, you can take the Karasuma Line of the Kyoto City Subway and transfer to the Tozai Line at Karasuma Oike Station.
- Get off at the Sanjo Keihan Station.
- The hotel is accessible from Exit 2 of Sanjo Keihan Station.
Namba Station (Osaka) to Kyoto
- From Namba Station in Osaka, take the Midosuji Line to Yodoyabashi Station (JPY180).
- From Yodoyabashi Station, transfer to the Keihan Line and take the Keihan Limited Express Train to Sanjo Keihan Station in Kyoto (JPY410). The total travel time is about 65 minutes.
- The hotel is accessible from Exit 2 of the Sanjo Keihan Station.
