The SO Comfy Room is one of the two lead-in guestroom categories of SO Sofitel Bangkok. The room measures between 38-45 square meters and is available in four element designs: Wood, Earth, Metal, and Water. Guests can likewise choose between a room with 1 King Bed or 2 Twin Beds. During this stay, I was given a SO Comfy Room in wood element design.

The two lead-in room categories (SO Cozy Room & SO Comfy Room) have an almost identical design and layout. The only difference is that SO Cozy Rooms have views of the city while SO Comfy Rooms have overlooking views of the Lumphini Park, making the SO Comfy Room a more desirable choice for the guests.

I arrived in Bangkok in the evening coming from Vientiane, Laos. I decided to spend a night at SO Sofitel Bangkok before I fly out the following day for Yangon, Myanmar. Thankfully, the lobby wasn't so busy anymore when I arrived and my check-in was hassle-free.

My welcome amenities included fresh fruits and Thai delicacies. My favorite was pandan and coconut steamed rice cakes covered with shredded coconut. There was also a handwritten note from the hotel's General Manager.

As mentioned earlier, I stayed in a SO Comfy Room in wood element design. The design was inspired by the traditional wooden houses found in Northern Thailand. As you can notice, teak wood was a material heavily used in the room. The wood color is then complemented by the warm colors of the furniture and decors.

I was feeling too lazy to go out for dinner and so I ordered room service instead. I was really craving for roast duck curry and fortunately SO Sofitel Bangkok has it in their in-room dining menu.
In-Room Dining | SO Sofitel Bangkok |
One of the highlights of my stay was the Sofitel MyBed. It was already turned down when I arrived, which was perfect because I was quite tired from my trip that day and the only thing I wanted to do after my dinner was to sleep in this super comfy bed. The sheets were smelling clean and fresh and the texture was so soft to the skin.

The mattress is on the softer side but with sufficient firmness to evenly support the body weight. The pillows were fluffy and gave excellent support to the neck. The aircon also worked perfectly to keep the temperature within my preferred range of 20°C-22°C.
Bathroom | SO Comfy Room, SO Sofitel Bangkok |
The bathroom is spacious enough for two persons. The bathtub is separate from the walk-in shower, and there is also a separate water closet. Water pressure was excellent during my stay. I didn't encounter difficulty in setting my preferred water temperature.

In line with Accor's Planet 21 Program, bath amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion are placed in large pump ceramic bottles to minimize plastic waste. Clean, high-quality cotton towels are generously provided inside the bathroom.
Illi Coffee Machine | SO Comfy Room, SO Sofitel Bangkok |
Waking up in the morning, guests can prepare freshly brewed espresso or americano in the comfort of their room with their own Illy coffee machine. Complimentary bottled water and coffee capsules are provided daily. Complimentary tea bags are also provided. Guests can ask for additional bottled water at no extra cost.
View of Lumphini Park | SO Comfy Room, SO Sofitel Bangkok |
Here is the tranquil view of Lumphini Park from my room. With the skyscrapers located far beyond the trees, it felt like the hotel was located away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Coming back from breakfast, I spent a few minutes admiring the view while relaxing on the sofa.
The view overlooking Lumphini Park is definitely the main selling point of the SO Comfy Room and I will definitely book this room category again for my future stays at SO Sofitel Bangkok. I will probably request a SO Comfy Room in water or metal element design.
