The Breakfast Buffet at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila is served daily from 06:00am to 10:00am (until 10:30am on weekends) at High Street Café, the all-day dining restaurant and main breakfast venue of the hotel. Guests who booked a breakfast-inclusive room rate can enjoy the daily breakfast buffet at the restaurant during their stay (up to two registered adult guests per room).
Guests with access to the Horizon Club Lounge (those guests staying in Horizon Deluxe Rooms or Suites) may also choose to have the breakfast buffet at High Street Café. Golden Circle Jade and Diamond members can also enjoy their complimentary breakfast benefit here at High Street Café.
The breakfast buffet features an extensive selection of Continental, Western, Chinese, Southeast Asian, and local Filipino breakfast specialties. The breakfast buffet also includes free-flowing coffee, espresso, tea, chilled fruit juices, and fresh fruit juices. Here are some of the breakfast items I tried during my various stays at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.
Shumai - A stay in a Shangri-La always reminds me of my visits to Hong Kong and Guangzhou that's why here at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, I always begin my morning with dim sum. I particularly love the Shumai (steamed pork and shrimp dumplings) because they are firm and meaty.
Curry Laksa - This is one of the signature dishes of High Street Café and they serve this during breakfast as part of the buffet. This Malaysian noodle dish has always been a favorite of mine ever since Shangri-La The Fort, Manila opened in 2016.
Taiwanese Beef Noodles - This is another noodle dish frequently served in the breakfast buffet. The taste of the broth is consistent with those served in Taiwan with this version made with sliced beef instead of beef brisket. A good choice if you miss your travels to Taiwan.
Asian and Western - If you can't decide which dishes to choose from the buffet, then the best way is to choose a mix of dishes from various food stations. This plate, for example, includes dishes from the Chinese Station (stir-fried noodles, fried dumplings, fried spring rolls, braised tofu) and Western Station (sausages and hash browns).
Pastries - Shangri-La The Fort, Manila serves top-quality pastries in its breakfast buffet spread. My favorites are the fruit danish pastries and the pasteis de nata (Portuguese egg tart). The pastries are best paired with brewed coffee or Barista-quality espresso drinks.
Fresh Fruits - I always end my breakfast with a variety of fresh fruits paired with fresh orange juice. The natural sweetness and freshness of the fruits can help wash down all the savory flavors.
