The Westin Manila Sonata Place, through its official website, announced that it will be opening in June 2021. The property is owned by Robinsons Land Corp and will be managed by Marriott International. Westin is a premium hotel brand originally owned by Starwood, a hospitality group acquired by Marriott International in 2016.
Executive Club | The Westin Manila Sonata Place |
Very little information is available online but several photos were already posted on the hotel's website which provide us a glimpse of what to expect when The Westin Manila Sonata Place finally opens in 2021. Through this article, allow me to share my first impressions of the property.
Deluxe Room | The Westin Manila Sonata Place |
The Deluxe Room looks very spacious and boasts of a high ceiling. It features a floor-to-ceiling glass wall to take in a sweeping view of Ortigas Center. The design looks very modern and luxurious. The room is furnished with a multi-purpose round desk, similar to most newly opened Marriott International properties.
Seasonal Tastes | The Westin Manila Sonata Place |
Both the Executive Club and Seasonal Tastes (all-day dining restaurant) look very modern, bright and airy. The hotel occupying the higher floors of the building, the view from here would surely be a strong selling point. Both venues will be an absolute treat for business travelers and diners from nearby offices.
Heavenly Spa | The Westin Manila Sonata Place |
The Heavenly Spa by Westin is also located on a high floor, possibly becoming Manila's highest spa when it opens. This particular treatment room is generously lined with marbles and exudes an oriental vibe.
Spanish Restaurant | The Westin Manila Sonata Place |
The yet to be named Spanish restaurant is a great addition to the upscale dining scene in Ortigas Center. The bar seems to be a nice place to enjoy some cocktails paired with authentic Spanish tapas. A great alternative to braving the evening traffic jam of EDSA and C5.
I look forward to seeing more photos of the hotel in the future. I am particularly interested in how the swimming pool would look like. The hotel lobby is not very impressive, but hopefully, the lobby lounge will compensate.
