New Normal Room Feature
The Grand Deluxe Room is the highest guestroom category of Grand Hyatt Manila. With a total floor area of 52 square meters, the Grand Deluxe Room offers more living space than similar room categories in Metro Manila. We stayed in Grand Deluxe Room 4513 located on the 45th floor, facing the west direction.
There are a total of six Grand Deluxe Rooms per floor. Three are located on the east side with a panoramic view of the Sierra Madre mountain range and Laguna Lake. The other three are located on the west side overlooking the Makati CBD with Manila Bay on the background.
The walk-in closet is conveniently located in the foyer. There are two luggage racks which is perfect if you are staying as a couple or if you are on a business stay. There are enough wooden hangers for a week-long worth of clothes. Iron and ironing board are also stored in the closet. The in-room safe is big enough to fit a laptop.
On the opposite side is the minibar. All rooms and suites here at Grand Hyatt Manila are equipped with an Illy coffee machine. Complimentary bottled water, Illy coffee capsules, and Twinings tea bags are provided daily. The electronic kettle is stored in the cabinet. Minibar drinks are temporarily not available in compliance with local health and safety protocols.
Among all the guestrooms of Grand Hyatt Manila, the Grand Deluxe Room is my personal favorite because of the generous living space. Two sides of this specific room are lined with glass windows which allow plenty of natural light, making the bedroom feel more spacious.
The Grand Deluxe Room is furnished with a king bed, a multi-purpose round desk that can be used for work or in-room dining, and a chaise lounge sofa. The room is equipped with a Smart TV with local and international cable channels. You can also watch Youtube and Netflix videos on the TV by wirelessly connecting it to your smartphone.
Complimentary wifi internet is available inside the room which is fast enough to support conference calls via Microsoft Teams. I was officially working during this stay and my VPN did not slow down the internet. I absolutely love this work station with a view.
My room was facing the west direction, directly facing the sun in the afternoon. Nevertheless, I didn't have to draw the curtains because the air-conditioning worked perfectly maintaining the room temperature below 22°C.
What I appreciated the most was the very comfortable bed. Whenever I stay here at Grand Hyatt Manila, it is guaranteed that I will get uninterrupted 8-hour sleep. I feel well-rested and energized the following day ready for another day of work.
The bathroom is accessible from the foyer and from the bedroom. A sliding frosted glass door separates the bathroom and the bedroom which shouldn't be a problem if you are staying alone or with your spouse. The bathroom has a double sink vanity with a double-wide mirror.
The bathrooms here at Grand Hyatt Manila are fitted with a bathtub. In a Grand Deluxe Room, a free-standing bathtub is placed in front of the vanity. There is also a separate walk-in shower fitted with a rainfall showerhead and a hand-held showerhead.
Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay. Hot water is available almost instantaneously which is great should you want to have a quick shower. Guests staying at Grand Hyatt Manila are provided with body and bath amenities by the French luxury fashion brand Balmain. It is also the new standard brand used by Grand Hyatt hotels around the world. The complete set includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and hand soap.
Similar to the layout of the Grand Room, the toilet here in a Grand Deluxe Room is placed in a separate cubicle. This design provides convenience when you, for example, are using the bathroom and, at the same time, your spouse had to use the toilet. It is also worth mentioning that the toilet is fitted with a bidet seat cover.
As mentioned earlier, I was officially working during this stay. I did enjoy the convenience of connecting my laptop to the Smart TV via the HDMI port located under the desk. Universal power outlets are also available, so you don't need to bring a travel adapter anymore
My favorite part of the day is definitely the sunset. This is my queue to take a break and admire the changing colors of the sky as the golden sun sets behind the horizon. If you want a view like this one, make sure you request a Grand Deluxe Room with a room number ending in -11, -12, or -13.
