Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea service features a selection of finger sandwiches and quiche. Freshly baked scones are also served with various jams and clotted cream.
Sweet options include cookies and assorted cakes which can be paired with gourmet coffee or premium tea. Chilled fruit juices are also available.
Evening Cocktails
I am a fan of cocktails using local spirits and flavors and I have instantly gravitated towards this counter bar offering cocktails made with Mekhong, a local spiced rum brand. I ordered the Thai Sabai which is nicknamed Thailand's national cocktail.
A little trivia. ThaiBev, the producer of Mekhong and Chang Beer (also served in the Executive Lounge), is owned by Thai business magnate Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi who also owns Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok.
Of course, I paired my Thai Sabai with Pad Thai, Moo Ping (Thai pork barbecue), and stewed tofu. I also had a bottle of Chang Beer which I paired with Laarb Moo, a spicy Nothern Thai dish made of minced pork.
In addition to the Mekhong cocktails, there are also Western branded spirits such as Beefeater, Absolut, Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker, and Martini. You can make your own cocktail or have one of the lounge attendants make your preferred drink. Red and white wine are also available.
Western comfort food such as sandwiches, sliders, as well as pizza is also served in the Executive lounge during evening cocktails. Wine pairings include a selection of premium cheeses and cold cuts.
All-Day Refreshments
Executive lounge guests can also take advantage of the free-flowing non-alcoholic drinks available from 6:00am until 11:00pm. Choices include canned soda, chilled fruit juices, gourmet coffee, and tea. Fresh cut fruits are also available inside the display fridge.
