Lead-in Guestroom Category
The Deluxe Room is the lead-in guestroom category of Hotel Okura Manila and is available in king-bed and twin-bed configurations. With a total floor area of 58 square meters, the Deluxe Room at Hotel Okura Manila is one of the most spacious hotel guestrooms in Metro Manila. It has a contemporary elegant Japanese design with an airy and calming interior.
A spacious foyer welcomes the guests to the room. There is a table where you can place your keycard, face mask, and face shield. There is also a large mirror on the wall which you can use for personal grooming before leaving the room. This area can also serve as a genkan (玄関) where you can leave your outdoor shoes and change into bedroom slippers.
The Deluxe Room has an open floor plan with a swivel television stand that serves as a divider between the living area and the sleeping area. The interior is dominated by soft white, grey, and beige colors with splashes of pastel and dark blue that create a calming and relaxing vibe. Details in black, dark wood, silver, and bronze add a touch of elegance to the room.
During my stay, I received these welcome amenities consisting of a platter of fresh-cut fruits, a chocolate bar, and a bottle of Evian still water. I particularly loved the chocolate bar by Auro which is made of 64% dark chocolate with cacao nibs.
The living area is furnished with a two-seater sofa with two side tables, a coffee table, and a minibar cabinet that houses a mini refrigerator. All rooms and suites at Hotel Okura Manila feature a Nespresso coffee machine which comes with complimentary coffee capsules.
For Nespresso-aficionados, Hotel Okura Manila provided the following coffee capsules during my stay: Capriccio, Ispirazione Italiana Genova Livanto, Ispirazione Italiana Roma, and Ispirazione Firenze Apreggio Decaffeinato.
Complimentary bottled water and Harney & Sons branded tea bags are also provided. Teabag selections include Egyptian Chamomile, Earl Grey, and Japanese Sencha teabags. The bottled water, coffee capsules, and teabags are replenished daily, but you can ask for additional amenities anytime during your stay.
As mentioned earlier, the Deluxe Room features a television mounted on a swivel stand. The 55-inch LED flat-screen TV has international cable channels as well as a screen mirroring feature. It is equipped with a Harman Kardon SABRE SB35 Wireless Soundbar & Subwoofer which you can also use to play music from your smartphone.
Next to the window is a multi-purpose round table which comes with two dining chairs. It served as my work desk and dinner table during my stay. Power outlets are available on the side of the table facing the window. The complimentary wifi internet was fairly fast enough to support Youtube and video calls via MS Teams.
Similar to my stay at Hotel Nikko Saigon, I also had an excellent sleep experience here at Hotel Okura Manila. The mattress had the perfect balance of firmness to support the body and softness that adjusts to the contours of the body. The plush pillows added to the comfortable sleep.
Bedside touchscreen control panels allowed for convenient adjustment of lights and curtains. Desk-level power outlets are also available on both sides of the bed. The room's air-conditioning worked perfectly to maintain the temperature between the comfortable range of 18°-22°C.
The closet cabinet is located in the living area. You could hang clothes enough to last for a week-long stay. Additional storage for folded clothes is also available. Two sets of yukata/nemaki (lounging kimono) are also provided inside the closet cabinet. An electronic safe, as well as an iron and ironing board, are also found inside the closet cabinet.
Next to the closet cabinet is a sliding door that will lead you to the bathroom. Generously spacious, the bathroom is lined with white marble tiles and features TOTO-branded fixtures. There is a separate bathtub with a Japanese-inspired feature wall. Top-quality cotton towels and bathrobes are provided.
In the middle are double vanities with a double-wide mirror. The marble countertop has more than enough space for your personal toiletries. The walk-in shower is fitted with a rainfall showerhead and a handheld showerhead. Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay.
There is also a separate water closet that features a TOTO toilet fitted with a TOTO washlet. The bidet seat is heated and is controlled by a wireless remote. Tissue paper rolls are also provided.
Guests staying in a Deluxe Room are provided with in-house branded bath amenities. The toiletries possess notes of ylang-ylang which is very similar to the Balance line of bath amenities by Aromatherapy Associates (available in Hotel Okura Manila suite categories).
While Hotel Okura is a premium hotel brand, the specs of the Deluxe Room, its amenities, and the level of service here at Hotel Okura Manila will make you feel you are staying in a luxury hotel. You do get more value out of your money.
