The Ocean Wing Junior Suite Sea View is one of the three junior suite categories available in the Ocean Wing of Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu. My welcome amenity as a Golden Circle member included a platter of fresh fruits plus some chocolate pralines. I also received a handwritten welcome note from the resort's general manager.
As an Ocean Wing guest, I also enjoyed complimentary minibar on my arrival day. All non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are free of charge. I called guest services and requested that all soft drinks in the minibar be replaced with Coke Light. Housekeeping immediately came to bring my request.
The Ocean Wing Junior Suite Sea View is a luxuriously spacious room at 90 square meters and is furnished with a dining table, a workstation, and a minibar cabinet. Coffee- and tea-making facilities are also provided.
The bed features a mattress with excellent back support. The plush topper and pillows ensure a comfortable goodnight's sleep. The seating area next to the glass window is the ideal spot to watch cable TV.
Switches to the in-room lighting, controls to the blackout blinds, as well as universal power sockets are conveniently located next to the bed. Bottled drinking water and glasses are also placed on each bedside table.
The sliding glass door next to the dining area will lead you to the private balcony that features a daybed and an oversized outdoor bathtub. This makes an intimate setting for couples and families to spend quality time together.
The private balcony of the Ocean Wing Junior Suite Sea View is also the best place to marvel at Sabah's stunning sunset while enjoying an indulgent bath. For honeymooners, I suggest a romantic rose petal bath.
To book a rose petal bath, just call guest services at least an hour before your preferred schedule. You can also level up the beth experience by ordering wine through room service. The bath indulgence is available daily until 10:00pm.
The Ocean Wing Junior Suite Sea View has a walk-in closet that leads to the ensuite bathroom. There's a vanity table where you can place your personal grooming items. A hairdryer is stored inside one of the cabinet drawers.
There's enough space to store clothes for a week-long stay. Wooden hangers, iron, and ironing board are provided. There's also an in-room safe that can fit a laptop. You can also find the bathrobes and bedroom slippers here.
The ensuite bathroom is spacious and elegantly designed with marbles and hardwood. The bathroom features a double vanity with generous countertop space. The walk-in shower is fitted with rainfall and handheld showerheads.
Guests staying in the Ocean Wing are provided with Jasmine & Bergamote body and bath amenities by L'Occitane en Provence. The set includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion in 50ml plastic bottles.
