SWISSOTEL CLARK
The Premium Room is the lead-in guestroom category of Swissôtel Clark. The room measures 39 square meters and is available in a king bed or two double beds configuration. Natural materials such as wood, stone, and leather are used in line with the vitality design philosophy of Swissôtel.
When you first enter the room, there's a full-height wardrobe with clothes hanger and drawer cabinets. It also houses the in-room safe, the iron, and the ironing board. Bathrobes and bedroom slippers are also stored here.
Next to the wardrobe is the minibar. I love that it is designed like a vintage leather suitcase that highlights the craftsmanship of local furniture makers. Above it is a hanging shelf and glass rack. A mini-fridge is stored inside the lower cabinet.
The Premium Room is equipped with a Nespresso machine. Complimentary bottled water and coffee capsules are provided and replenished daily. Dilmah-branded tea bags are also provided. I absolutely love the Swissôtel porcelain mugs.
The floor-to-ceiling window allows plenty of natural light into the room. The neutral colors coupled with the natural materials used in the interior create an airy atmosphere that is relaxing and inspiring.
The room is also filled with Swiss-inspired design elements. The statement wall, for instance, features the pattern of the Swiss Alps. The headboard reminds us of the color of the Swiss army knife. While the throw pillow inspired by the Swiss national flag makes for an excellent accent piece.
The room also has a number of technology features that are seamlessly integrated into the design of the room. The light control panels and the charging points neatly blend into the headboard. There is also a bedside alarm clock that also functions as a wireless charger for smartphones.
I also love how the functionality of the furniture can be adjusted to the need of the guests. The coffee table may be repurposed as a laptop table. It can also be moved to the sidewall to free up more space in the seating area.
There is also a round table which can be used for work or for dining. During my five-day stay here at Swissôtel Clark, I spent a good amount of time working from my room. Desk-level power outlets are available on the sidewall.
There is a 55-inch smart TV which can be used for entertainment or for work. You can cast Netflix from your smartphone to the TV or connect your laptop to the TV via HDMI. The complimentary wifi is fast enough for conference calls via MS Teams.
We come to the most important part of the room which is the bed. The Swissôtel bed has a well balanced firmness that evenly supports the spine and adjusts to the contours of the body. The sheets are made of 100% Egyptian cotton that is very soft and gentle to the skin. Kudos to the housekeeping team for the superb bed making.
The bathroom features a single vanity with a spacious countertop for your personal toiletries. Vanity and dental kits are also provided. The bathroom is fitted with a toilet with a bidet sprayer.
On the opposite side is the walk-in shower. It is fitted with a handheld showerhead and a rainfall showerhead. Water pressure was consistently strong during my stay and hot water was available almost instantaneously.
Guests are provided with Pürovel-branded body and bath amenities made with essential oils extracted from plants grown in the Alpine valleys of Switzerland. The complete set includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and soap.
