Honeyholic Afternoon Tea at the Writers Bar

The Honeyholic Afternoon Tea is the newest themed afternoon tea offering of Writers Bar at Raffles Makati for the months of August to September 2022. The Honeyholic Afternoon Te set features canapès, cakes, pastries, and drinks made with honey harvested from Raffles Makati’s own bee farm.



The Honeyholic Afternoon Tea set will be served daily from 2:00pm to 3:30pm and from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. The set costs ₱2,300 nett and includes coffee or tea for two persons. Prior reservation is required.



Choices for coffee are brewed coffee, cappuccino, caffe latte, and caffe mocha. TWG tea selections include English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Silver Moon, Pink Garden, Sweet France, Moroccan, Alfonso, Eternal Summer, Lemon Bush, and the Raffles Makati Tea Blend. The set also includes Honeyholic mocktail for two persons.



Guests also have the option to upgrade their Honeyholic mocktails to two (2) artisanal honey-based cocktails called Queen Bee (₱800). For a premium afternoon tea experience, you can upgrade your mocktails to two glasses of Veuve Clicquot Champagne (₱1,800).



All canapès, cakes, and pastries are the creation of Raffles Makati's new Executive Chef, Chef Béla Rieck. He was formerly the executive chef of Swissôtel Nankai Osaka prior to joining Raffles Makati in April 2022.



Savory sandwiches and canapès include Brioche Roll with Goat Cheese and Honey, Prosciutto & Manchego in Honey Mustard Sandwich, Arugula & Honey Feta Sandwich, Foie Gras Mousse Honey & Sesame Tuile, and Mini Quiche Lorraine with Honey Cured Bacon.



Cakes and pastries include Florentine Honey Cookies, Almond and Honey Layered Cake Slice, Financier au Miel, and Honey Chestnut Choux.



There's also Ricotta Honey Pâté de Crème and Honey Meringue Tart. I love it that the cakes and pastries were not overly sweet.



The Honeyholic Afternoon Tea set also includes Classic Scones and Honey Glazed Scones served with clotted cream, homemade Raffles Makati honey, and a selection of jams/preserves. I recommend mixing the clotted cream and the honey.
