Highlights & Must-Try Dishes
Below are the must-try dishes from the ALAB Filipino Buffet. Please take note that some dishes listed below are part of a rotation menu and may not be available on your day of visit.
- Seafood Station - prawns and mussels, enjoy them cold or grilled
- Mains - top favorites are kinunot, pinatisang baboy, dinengdeng, bicol express, bringhe, curacha in alavar sauce
- Carving - grilled beef, lechon, and bagnet, add kare-kare sauce
- Indian - biryani with tapa
- Japanese - try all the Filipino sushi rolls, tempura is life
- Kakanin - combine kakanin with ice cream
This plate includes Pancit Canton, Tapa Biryani, Beef Morcon, and Beef Pares. I loved the combination of the Indian biryani and the Filipino beef tapa. The beef in all three dishes was very tender.
Make sure to try the Bringhe when available. It is best enjoyed with its seafood topping. This plate also includes some of my favorites from the buffet: Chicken Bicol Express, Dinengdeng, and Laing.
Here is an assortment of Filipino-inspired sushi rolls available at the Japanese station. My favorites are the Dinakdakan Tartare and the Kare-Kare Onigiri.
This plate includes Bagoong Rice, Curacha in Alavar Sauce (I love this!), Poqui-Poqui, Pinatisang Baboy, Kinunot na Tuna, and Linagpang na Palus (eel).
I had two slices of steak paired with Yorkshire pudding. The meat was juicy and the red wine jus added more flavor. I also had a portion of pork belly and pork lechon with kare-kare sauce.
I discovered that kakanin can be enjoyed with ice cream. I like the sapin-sapin paired with vanilla ice cream as well as the biko latik paired with ube ice cream.
