Highlights & Must-Try Dishes
I dined here at Wok Wok for dinner during my recent stay at Andaz Bali. I was only able to try two dishes from the menu. Both were flavorful and the serving size was very generous. I will post more dishes here when I dine here again.
My meals here at Wok Wok started with a serving of rempeyek, a type of cracker with whole peanuts. It is served with sambal hijau, a spicy condiment made of green chilis and green tomatoes.
The Nasi Goreng Bebek in Indonesian fried rice cooked with Balinese spiced duck meat, vegetables, egg, and topped with crispy shallot. This dish is a complete meal for one person or can be shared between two persons when ordered together with another main dish.
The Nasi Goreng Bebek is served with an assortment of condiments, including acar (pickled vegetables), sambal matah (Balinese fresh sambal with chilis and shallot), and sambal merah (a sweet-spicy sambal made of red chilis and tomatoes).
Sate Campur is a platter of mixed satay served with lontong, a cylindrical steamed rice cake wrapped in banana leaf. My sate campur included two sticks of sate ayam (chicken satay), sate lilit (Balinese minced fish satay), and sate maranggi (a Sundanese-style satay of beef tenderloin).
The sate campur is serve with three types of sambal, one type of sambal for every variant of the satay. The sate ayam is paired with the peanut sauce. The sate lilit is paired with the sambal matah (Balinese fresh sambal with chilis and shallot). The sate maranggi is paired with the sweet soy sauce.
The Andaz Pisang is a dessert dish of sliced bananas wrapped in spring roll wrappers, deep fried and coated with caramel, and topped with white chocolate ice cream and pine nuts.
